Detailed documentation, transparency, and active communication are the cornerstones of a healthy, engaged, and proactive Board. I firmly believe in these principles and will ensure they are upheld when I am on the Board.

During my previous time on the Board, we consistently took the time to review and discuss public questions and comments with careful consideration. We ensured that individuals were connected with the appropriate committees for further assistance or resolution.

 

Additionally, we always made it a point to fully discuss matters in open Board meetings or closed sessions, with detailed documentation as a standard practice. This was a level of responsibility and pride we maintained.

Recent events have raised concerns about the current Board’s adherence to these fundamental practices. Following a Texas Open Records Act (TORA) request I made to the District, the response indicated that no documentation was available—despite legal requirements to maintain such records. The communication surrounding this request showed a lack of interest and motivation in addressing the public’s concerns, which is simply unacceptable.
